1. What we do
DigitX LLC, doing business as GetMyTaxCutprepares and files residential assessment grievances with the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission (“ARC”) as your designated representative, assembles comparable-sales evidence, communicates with ARC and the Nassau County Department of Assessment on your behalf, evaluates settlement offers, and — where appropriate — prepares a Small Claims Assessment Review (“SCAR”) petition.
We are not a law firm, and no attorney-client relationship is created. Nothing on this site or in our communications is legal, tax, or financial advice. See our Disclosures.
2. Eligibility
You may sign an authorization only if you are at least 18 years old and you are the owner of the property, or you are authorized to act for the owner (for example as a co-owner, authorized agent, contract vendee, or estate representative). You confirm the parcel identified in your authorization is the property you intend us to grieve.
3. Exclusive representation and authorization validity
By signing, you appoint DigitX LLC, doing business as GetMyTaxCut as your sole and exclusive representative for the assessment grievance on the identified parcel for the identified assessment roll year. ARC may reject duplicate filings, so you agree not to authorize any other representative — and not to file yourself — for the same parcel and roll year while your authorization is in effect. Your authorization is valid for 120 days from the date you sign; if the filing window for the roll year has not yet opened when it expires, a new authorization may be required.
4. Fees — 29% contingency, no reduction means no fee
You pay no upfront fee. If our representation results in a reduction, our fee is 29% of your first-year tax savingsproduced by that reduction. If no reduction is achieved, you owe us nothing for the representation. Where a SCAR petition is filed, the court’s filing fee (currently $30) is your responsibility and is separate from our fee (see Section 7).
5. Refund handling
If the county issues a refund for your matter, you authorize DigitX LLC, doing business as GetMyTaxCut to receive the refund check on your behalf, deduct our fee under Section 4, and forward the net balance to you within 30 days of our receipt of cleared funds. If the reduction instead lowers your future tax bills without a refund check, we will invoice our fee based on the first-year savings.
6. Settlement offers
ARC frequently resolves grievances by settlement offer. You authorize DigitX LLC, doing business as GetMyTaxCut to evaluate settlement offers for your matter and to accept or reject them under our settlement rules, which are designed to accept offers that produce a meaningful reduction and to continue pursuing your case when an offer is inadequate. We will report the outcome to you.
7. SCAR review
If ARC denies the grievance or the result warrants further review, you authorize DigitX LLC, doing business as GetMyTaxCutto prepare a SCAR petition for the same parcel and roll year. The SCAR court filing fee is payable by you and is separate from our contingency fee. We will not file a SCAR petition without notifying you.
8. Cancellation, late payment, and default
- You may cancel before we file your grievance at no charge.
- If you cancel after we have filed, a cancellation fee of $285 may apply, reflecting work already performed.
- Amounts unpaid 30 days after invoice may incur a $50 late fee plus reasonable costs of collection.
9. No guarantee of results
Estimates shown on this site are automated projections, not promises. Whether your assessment is reduced — and by how much — is decided solely by ARC or the SCAR hearing officer. See the Estimate Disclaimer. Under Nassau County’s rules, filing a grievance cannot cause ARC to raise your assessment for that reason.
10. Electronic records and signatures
Your authorization is signed electronically and is legally binding. The terms of electronic delivery, your right to paper copies, and how to withdraw consent are in our Consent to Electronic Records & Signatures, which is part of these terms.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DigitX LLC’s total liability arising out of the service or a representation is limited to the fees you actually paid us for that matter, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under New York law.
12. Governing law and venue
These terms and any authorization are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute will be brought in the state courts located in Nassau County, New York.
13. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update the version identifier and date at the top of this page. The version displayed to you when you signed is recorded with your authorization, and that version governs that authorization.
